Ex-Crown Prince Carol, new again in the limelight because of his claims to the Roumanian throne, expressed his condemnation of the mistreatment of Jews in Roumania in an interview with the representative of the Budapest newspaper, “Acht Uhr Blatt”.

Carol stated that the Grosswardein pogrom and the continuing anti-Jewish persecutions in Roumania are deplorable and that the present government is to be blamed for them. His program, if he came into power, would be full protection for the national minorities and absolute assurance of equality of all citizens before the law.
