Mrs. Henry N. Rapaport, president of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, sent a telegram Thursday to Ambassador John Scali at the United Nations appealing to him “to bring the deteriorating plight of Syrian Jews to the attention of all appropriate United Nations agencies for immediate action. It must be made known to the Syrian government that Americans abhor all acts of discrimination, repression, torture and murder perpetrated upon its minority citizens and that any government which engages in or tolerates such actions deserves the condemnation and ostracism of civilized mankind.”
