Mrs. Samuel J. Rosensohn, former national president of Hadassah died today at the Madison Avenue Hospital. She was 81 years old. For almost 40 years, Mrs. Rosensohn was a member of the national board of Hadassah and served the organization in many capacities. She was the national president of Hadassah in 1952-53, and since then an honorary national vice president.
Born in Galveston, Texas, she attended the University of Texas and later the New York School of Social Work. In 1920, she became active in the National Travelers Aid Society and served the organization as a member of its board of directors, secretary and vice president. At the time of her death, she was an honorary vice president of the society, Despite her many interests and activities, Zionism and Hadassah were the focal points of Mrs. Rosensohn’s life.
She also was a member of the Board of Governors of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a member of the Board of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, and had been a member of the Zionist General Council of the World Zionist Organization.
