Police were investigating today the outbreak of swastika painting on automobiles and garages in the suburb of Oak Park, where Jews constitute a large percentage of the 40,000 population. A police spokesman said vandals smeared at least 22 cars and two garages with red paint swastikas and slogans such as “Hitler” and “Gestapo” and obscene words.
