The U.S. Government was urged this week-end to lift the embargo on arms shipments to Palestine and make available supplies needed by the Jewish defenders, in a resolution adopted at a special emergency regional meeting here of New England Zionist leaders.

Other resolutions called on the United Nations to raise immediately an international army to implement the partition plan and demanded that the United States and the United Nations give stern warning to the Arab world against sabotaging the Palestine decision.

In an address at the conference, Dr. Israel Goldstein, president of the World Confederation of General Zionists, declared that “Britain’s attempt to smear Zion by trotting cut the Communist bogey may fool their own people but will not hoodwink the American public.” He called the declaration of the Arab Higher Committee threatening to declare war on the United Nations if its decision on Palestine is implemented “a new high in Arab effrontery which should be met by action in the Security Council.”
