Helen Gahagan Douglas, Democrat, of California, has introduced a bill to establish a permanent fair employment practices commission.
The bill prohibits discrimination in employment on grounds of “race, creed, color, national origin or ancestry, ” and would apply to all employers of six or more persons engaged in interstate commerce or holding government contracts. The measure would also apply to labor unions.
