Brown and white swastikas were painted on the walls of the Braunschweig municipality and other buildings last night. Such daubings have grown to serious proportions in West German cities in recent months but have not been reported by the press to avoid reaction from abroad.
The West German authorities are particularly sensitive on the subject of swastika-daubing and the West German police have been pursuing quiet but intensive investigations. So far, there is no indication that they have uncovered an organized plan.
