The Jewish Telegraphic Agency received messages from President Carter in Washington and from Premier Menachem Begin in Jerusalem praising the JTA for its role since it was founded in 1917. Carter, in his message, stated:
“For sixty years, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency has served readers with detailed and accurate news reports on matters of concern to Jewish communities. In this 60th anniversary year of the founding of JTA, I extend my congratulations to you for the Agency’s two generations of service to the Public. May you continue to serve in the same high journalistic tradition for generations to come.”
