The work of organizing Jewish communities throughout New York State has been undertaken by the New York State Region of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, it was announced here yesterday after a meeting of the Executive Committee at Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
A fund to further the work was voted by the committee and Rabbi Shepherd Z. baum, of Albany, chairman of the Region, was empowered to make the necessary arrangements.
At the meeting it was announced by Rabbi Baum that the National Board of Education is now completing a curriculum for Talmud Torahs and Hebrew schools which will be ready for distribution in September.
Addresses were delivered by Rabbi I. L. Brill, representing the National office; J. S. Sovatkin, treasurer; Benjamin Koblenz, secretary; M. Feller and H. Nachman of Saratoga Springs.
