The Board of Police Commissioners of this city has formally accepted the resignation of Jean Tissot, anti-Semitic detective who was recently convicted of criminally libeling A. J. Freiman, prominent Jewish merchant and president of the Canadian Zionist Organization.
The board yesterday agreed to give Tissot, who had been a member of the police department for twenty-five years, a cash settlement of $1,500 in lieu of a life pension which would amount to $90 a month.
Tissot is now a patient at the Ottawa General Hospital.
