Palestine is thus far the only country detached from the pre-war Turkish empire that has completely discharged its obligations with regard to its share of the Ottoman public debt, declared Arthur Henderson, British foreign secretary, replying to a question from Sir Herbert Samuel in the House of Commons. He also said that negotiations in this matter were still pending with the Iraq and Syrian governments.

The simultaneous publication of the Inquiry Commission’s report in England and Palestine will probably be impracticable said Drummond Shiels, under-secretary for the Colonies, replying to a question from Michael Marcus. Shiels also said that the Colonial Office had not yet received an interim report from Inspector Dowbiggin regarding the police organization in Palestine.
