P.’s at the British government’s new Palestine policy will probably find expression during the debate on the King’s speech in the next few days. The Conservatives have already made it clear that they intend to attack the government for its Palestine policy and should any considerable number of government supporters back them a position of some delicacy might arise.
John Scurr, Labor M.P. for Mile End, Whitechapel, today declared that he was not in agreement with the policy as announced by the Colonial Office with regard to Palestine. “I think it does not carry out the terms of the Mandate nor is it in accordance with the Balfour Declaration and I will take the earliest opportunity of raising the question in the House of Commons,” he said.
