Dr. Ignacy Schwarzbard, Jewish member of the Polish National Council, upon receiving a number of cables from Jewish refugees stranded in Kobe, Japan, today submitted to Polish Foreign Minister Zaleski a list of refugees asking that special efforts be made to secure Canadian visas for them.

Minister Zaleski promised to cable to the Polish ambassador in Tokyo requesting him to intensify his intervention in behalf of the refugees. He also promised to instruct the Polish consul-general in Ottawa to approach the Canadian authorities with a view to securing an increase in the number of entry visas for Jewish refugees from Poland now stranded in Japan.
