Professor Samuel Joseph Lengyel, an honorary president of the Federation of Hungarian Jews in Britain, died here today at the age of 78. Born in Hungary, he had been an economics professor at the University of Melbourne. He was an international authority on insurance and the author of textbooks on the subject.
