Prof. Umberto Cassuto, noted Italian-Jewish savant and historian, is now celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of his scientific activities. Dr. Cassuto is professor of Semitic languages at the University of Florence and was for a time also Chief Rabbi of Florence. He has published a number of historical works, of which “The History of the Jews in Florence During the Renaissance Epoch” received official praise from the old scientific academy “Dei Linsai” in Rome.
