Dr. Hugo Falkenheim celebrated his seventieth birthday yesterday at Koenigsberg.

For many years Professor Falkenheim has been active in the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith. He has been a resident in Koenigsberg since 1885.

He was appointed Professor Extraordinary in 1896 at the Albertus University in Koenigsberg and head of the University Children’s Clinic, which he founded. For many years he was unable to attain the regular Professorship because he was a Jew and it was not until the establishment of the Republic that this rank was conferred upon him. In 1924 he was made Dean of the Medical Faculty of the University. During the war he served as Doctor-in-Chief in one of the Koenigsberg prison hospitals and at the end of the war retired with the rank of Doctor-General in the Reserve.
