The action of the Palestinian Government in stopping the performance of Halevy’s “La Juive” as a result of the protests of the Catholics, is causing great indignation in some Jewish circles.
It is believed that performance of the opera may be permitted if changes are made cutting out the portions which are objectionable to the Catholics.
