The appearance of the 1,000th issue of Yiddishe Presse, a Jewish newspaper published here, was celebrated today in Rio de Janeiro and in Sao Paulo by the Jewish communities. Dr. Arieh Tartakower, leader of the World Jewish Congress, and Moshe Run, secretary of the Journalists Association of Israel, participated in the celebrations. Marc Turkow, HIAS representative for Latin America, was also one of the principal speakers at the celebration here.
