Responding to an appeal issued by Edmund I. Kaufmann president of the Zionist Organization of America, urging the cooperation of the American rabbinate in carrying out his program to “make Palestine the concern of all Jews in America, many rabbis in various parts of the country have announced their intention to devote whole or part of their sermons in December to the strengthening of the Zionist Organization, the Z.O.A. announced today. The theme of these sermons will be dedicated to the purposes of Zionist Membership Month which has been proclaimed for the period ending with Chanukah.
In his call, Kaufmann reiterated the need of uniting all constructive forces of American Jewry, “in view of the tremendous responsibilities which the present hour has imposed upon us.”
