The combined drive for the United Jewish Campaign and the United Palestine Appeal raised $18,000 of its one year’s quota of $35,000 at a meeting last night launching the drive. Rabbi Morris S. Lazaron of Baltimore, Congressman Ben Golder and Albert Lieberman of Philadelphia, addressed the gathering. The Honorary Chairman of the campaign is S. Schwerina, the Chairman, Alex L. Luria; Vice Chairmen, Barney Sher and N. P. Cohen; Treasurer, Max Luria and Secretary, Philip Levin.
JUDGE MACK GIVES $5,000 TO HARVARD LAW SCHOOL FUND
A contribution of $5,000 to the Harvard Law School $5,000,000 endowment fund was made by Federal Judge Julian W. Mack, it was announced at a luncheon in the Bankers’ Club. Ten gifts totaling $115,000 were announced. Three Harvard professors, Dean Roscoe Pound, Joseph H. Beale and Samuel Williston, each contributed $5,000.
