Because of the unwillingness of the Polish First Aid Society to agree that one of its ambulances, donated by Jews, should bear a Yiddish inscription the population of the Polish capital will not profit from the services of an additional ambulance.
The Warsaw Yiddish daily, “Der Moment,” raised an amount necessary to equip an ambulance by popular subscription among its readers. The ambulance was to be placed at the disposal of the First Aid Society. The newspaper asked that besides the Polish society’s name on the ambulance, it should also have a Yiddish sign with the words “Der Moment.” The condition was originally accepted. However, because of opposition the Board of the society has now withdrawn the ambulance from use.
