Representatives of Italy’s Progressive Jewish movement were permitted to attend the conference of the country’s only Jewish umbrella group for what is believed to be the first time. Last month, representatives of Progressive, or Reform, Jewry, which has congregations in Milan and Florence, attended the conference of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities, held in Rome.
