Adolf Hitler, the Nazi commissioner announced:

“Jews in the Saar will be treated exactly as they are in Germany. Patriotic Jews, like war veterans, are not exposed to any interference. Only those who participated in anti-German activities have ground for uneasiness. I regard the Jewish question as scientific rather than political.”

BORDERS SEALED AGAINST JEWS

A complaint stating that Jewish voters were terrorized by Nazis to abstain from casting ballots was lodged today by leaders of the status quo movement, who are conducting the campaign that the Saar remain under League of Nations control.

Many Jewish voters emphatically denied today that they voted for Saar rule by the League. This denial came as a result of reports circulated that the majority of the Jews voted against returning the Saar to Germany.

The borders of France and the Netherlands were sealed today against the expected influx of refugees. Both countries announced that visas would be granted only to people of means.
