Samuel S. Schneierson, long active in Jewish philanthropic and educational work in New York City, will head the 1944 appeal of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies, it was announced here today.
Accepting the new post, Mr. Schneierson said that this year’s appeal would be “for the most generous possible gifts, keyed not merely to today’s vast immediate needs, but towards strengthening and safe-guarding the 116 historic Jewish agencies for tomorrow’s post-war responsibilities.”
