Samuel Suggested As Head of Glasgow University

Sir Herbert Samuel, former High Commissioner of Palestine, was selected as a candidate for the office of rector of the University of Glasgow. The term of the present rector, Chamberlin, expires in 1928. Sir Herbert’s candidacy has the support of the Liberal students.

It was stated that Sir Herbert has definitely decided to seek a seat in parliament at the next general elections. He will contest Darween in the Lancashire division.
