Efforts to per suade Asher Mallah, former representative of the Jewish Community in the Greek Senate, to run for election in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections on March 5th, are being made at the insistence of former Premier Venizelos.
Venizelos telegraphed to former Minister of Aviation, Sannas, in Salonica, to persuade Mallah to run. Venizelos is hopeful that Mallah will capture one of the two seats, to which the Jews are entitled, for his party. In the last election none of the Jewish candidates of the Venizelos Party were elected.
Former Senator Mallah, however, has remained firm in his decision to abandon political activity. He informed the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that he desires to devote his entire activity to Palestine work.
