The Senate passed a bill on amending the naturalization laws whereby judges of the Federal District Courts are empowered to designate examiners or other officers of the naturalization service to conduct preliminary hearings upon petitions for naturalization and make recommendations to the court for final action.
This amendment, which now goes to the House, is expected to greatly relieve congestion in naturalization courts.
$46,340 toward payment of the new $75,000 addition to the Hebrew Ladies’ Old People’s Home in Hartford, Conn., was contributed at ### meeting at which Judge Gustave Hartman was the principal speaker.
