Shimon Peres said Israel made a mistake in annexing all of eastern Jerusalem. “Whoever thinks 240,000 Arabs from east Jerusalem could be annexed while Jerusalem remains a Jewish capital is as mistaken as those who say the city can be divided with fences and walls,” the vice prime minister said Sunday at a Labor Party event marking Jerusalem Day.
