South African Jews held a ceremony commemorating the Holocaust and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. On the 60th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, Miriam Lichterman, who survived the ghetto as well as the Majdanek, Auschwitz, Ravensbruck and Stutthof concentration camps, said the younger generation must realize that it made no difference to our enemies “what we were or where we came from. We were Jews. We died together, so let us learn to live together.”
