The State Department believes “that it would be unfortunate to link the question of extension of aid to Greece with the Palestine problem.”
The Administration’s attitude on this issue was disclosed in the text of answers by the State Department to questions submitted by members of Congress on Greco-Turkish aid, and released today by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
In reply to one question, the State Department declared that “it will undoubtedly be many months before the United Nations will be able to find a solution to the Palestine problem and the question of aid to Greace, as pointed out by the President, is extremely urgent.”
