When the Oxford Debating Team, now in this country to debate against the leading colleges and universities, leaves for England, one of its members, Michael Franklin, will remain behind. Mr. Franklin, a recent graduate of Oxford, is one of the three representatives of the Oxford Union on the Debating Team. He has decided to enter the rabbinate and will prepare for the ministry at the Jewish Institute of Religion, of which Dr. Stephen S. Wise is Acting President.

Mr. Franklin, who was Warden of the Oxford Synagogue during his student days, is the son of the Hon. and Mrs. E. L. Franklin of London. He is a grandson of the late Lord Swaythling, lay leader of English Jewish Orthodoxy in his time. He is the nephew of Sir Herbert Samuel.
