Synigogue Council of America Asks U.S. Jews to Mark V-e Day by Special Services

The Synagogue Council of America, representing the orthodox, conservative and reform rabbis and congregations of the United States, of which Rabbi Herbert S. Goldstein is president, to day issued a call to the rabbis and religious leaders of the country asking them “to gather their people in their Synagogues and Temples for a service of Thanksgiving at 8,00 p.m. on the day on which cessation of hostilities in Europe is officially announced.”
