The director of an immigrant absorption center in central Israel was dismissed by the Jewish Agency for Israel for trying to cover up the rape of a 12-year-old Ethiopian girl at the facility. The Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported that the official had reprimanded a social worker for telling police about the case, which occurred nine months ago. As a result of the incident, the girl became pregnant.
