The government of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak is too weak to pursue the regional peace process, according to a senior Syrian official. Israel cannot “take a decision regarding the resumption of the Syrian-Israeli peace talks or the Jerusalem issue,” said Fayez Sayegh, director general of Syria’s Radio and Television Authority.
