The head of the PLO’s political department and the leader of Islamic Jihad militants in Damascus agreed “to escalate military resistance against Israel,” according to Reuters. The PLO’s Farouk Kaddoumi visited the Syrian capital to prepare for a planned visit by Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat later this month.
