The Palestinian Authority apologized to Israel for an incident last weekend in which Palestinian police detained and beat three Israeli soldiers on leave in Bethlehem, the Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported. Palestinian officials said one of the police officers involved in the incident was sentenced to three months in prison and thrown off the force.
