The Reform movement will soon ordain rabbis at its Los Angeles campus for the first time. The decision to turn the West Coast branch of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, where rabbinical students may now study for two years, into a four-year rabbinical college is expected to take place in mid-February. Reform rabbis are now ordained at the Cincinnati and New York City campuses of the movement’s seminary.
