The senior rabbi of Seattle’s largest Jewish congregation reportedly diverted synagogue funds for personal use. Rabbi Earl Starr, who retired last year, diverted money given to the synagogue by a local foundation, Jon Rosen, president of Temple De Hirsch Sinai’s board of trustees, was quoted as saying by The Seattle Times.
