The United Daughters of 1812, holding a three day convention here, today heard a report of its resolutions committee urging a five-year ban on immigration as a solution to the problems of unemployment and relief and opposing the Wagner-Rogers refugee children’s bill. Most of the refugee children are Jews, said Mrs. Arthur J. O’Neill, of Chicago, president of the organization. “I have nothing against the Jews, but this is a predominantly Christian country and we should take care of our own needy before we receive new aliens.”
