The United States offered Iran economic incentives to abandon its pursuit of weapons of mass destruction. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said last Friday that the United States would lift its objections to Iran’s application to join the World Trade Organization and its licensing of spare parts for commercial aircraft if the Islamic republic ends its pursuit of nuclear weapons.
