Thousands of Unemployed Polish Jews Doomed to Starvation

The industrial crisis prevailing now in Poland has caused great unemployment among the Jewish workers of Warsaw. Lodz and Bialystok, the centers of Polish industry. Thousands of the unemployed are entirely destitute; and there is starvation in some quarters.

A large demonstration of the Jewish unemployed was held in

front of the building of the Jewish Community, where demands for help were made. The Kehillah Board decided to allot 24,000 Zlotys for relief purposes, to be expended in the next eight weeks.
