Major General Itzhak Rabin, Chief of Staff of Israel’s defense forces, accompanied by Col. Ezer Weizmann, commander of the Air Force, left for Paris this morning on what was described as a “private” visit. They will be joined in the French capital Tuesday by Shimon Peres, Deputy Minister of Defense, who is now in England.

General Rabin and Col. Weizmann will visit various military establishments in France, as well as the factory where the French Mirage jet planes, which Israel’s Air Force uses, are made. During Gen. Rabin’s absence, his post here will be filled temporarily by Brig. Chaim Barlev.
