Twenty students whose campuses were shut down by Hurricane Katrina are attending Israeli universities. The Jewish Agency for Israel said the students, hailing from California, Texas, New York, Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin and Missouri, opened the fall 2006 semester this month at five universities in Israel.
