Two French Iews Honored

Two French Jews were yesterday decorated with the legion of Honor Both of them were awarded France’s most coveted public award for their work on behalf of Jewish organizations. The two are Salomon Friederich, director of the Alliance France-Israel, and Gerard Israel, secretary of the Alliance Israelite Universelle.

Former French Premier Jacques Chaban Delmas personally called on Friederich who is hospitalized to present him with the insignia of the order. Friederich has Fong been active in promoting Franco-Israeli friendship. He also serves as the secretary general of the Union of News from Eastern Europe.
