The London Daily Graphic reported today that American engineers are re-examining the Israel Government’s plan for a canal that would stretch from the Red Sea through the Negev to the Mediterranean, as an alternative to the Suez Canal.

The same paper also reported that Major General John B. Glubb, commander of Jordan’s British-officered and financed Arab Legion, may soon relinquish his command to take over the training of a new army for the recently established State of Libya.
