U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said there had been “some progress” as a result of U.S. Middle East envoy Dennis Ross’ shuttle to the Middle East, but not enough “for us to say that there has been a breakthrough.” Albright also told reporters at the White House, “There is a level of frustration both here and in the Middle East because the stalemate has gone on.”
