UJA Leader Reports Accord with Ben Gurion on 1954 Campaign

“What we need most to assure success for our efforts on behalf of Israel in the coming year in the United States, is a united American Jewish community without conflicts and controversies, ” Dr. Joseph Schwartz, executive vice-chairman of the United Jewish Appeal, declared today prior to his retrun to New York, after three days of consultation here.

“Premier David Ben Gurion and I found ourselves in perfect accord with regard to this vital question, “Dr. Schwartz continued. “We feel certain that there will be created great understanding and a favorable atmosphere for our 1954 United Jewish Appeal campaign.” Dr. Schwartz had four conferences with the Israel Premier and a number of conferences with other members of the Israel Cabinet.
