Van Vriesland, Industrialist, Zionist Leader, Dies in Tel Aviv at 53

Siegfried Adolf Van Vriesland, prominent Zionist leader, general manager of the Port of Tel Aviv and general manager of Palestine Potash, Ltd., died here today. He was 53 years old.

Van Vriesland was a member and treasurer of the World Zionist Executive from 1919 to 1925. In 1927, he was named consul for The Netherlands in Jerusalem.

Born in Haarlem, The Netherlands, Van Vriesland was a well known attorney, practising for many years in Holland before coming to Palestine. He was a brother-in-law of Siegfried Hoofien, manager of the Anglo-Palestine Bank.
