The establishment at the Hebrew University of a post-graduate course for Rabbis in the Diaspora, who, on returning to their countries will be permeated with love for Palestine and Jewry, will thus be able to promote the national revival, was suggested by Rabbi Chaim Nahum, Chief Rabbi of Egypt, former Chacham Bashi of Turkey under the Sultan, at a banquet given him here by the Sephardic Community in honor of his visit to Palestine.

Representatives of the Zionist Executive, the Jewish National Fund, the Keren Hayesod, the Jewish National Council, the Jerusalem Jewish Community, the Hebrew Teachers’ Association, and other bodies delivered addresses praising Chief Rabbi Nahum’s services to Jewry and especially to Palestine.

Chief Rabbi Nahum in his reply urged the unity of all sections of Jewry and pledged himself to spread interest for Palestine among the Jews of Egypt.
