War weariness will bring an end to Israeli-Palestinian violence, said former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell. The leader of an international panel that issued suggestions earlier this year on how to end the violence, Mitchell told the BBC on Sunday he had reached the conclusion after meeting with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat. During those meetings, he said, both leaders told him, “This must stop because life has become unbearable for our people.”
